Getting Around
Public Transit - You can use the Dial a Ride service of the Mason County Transportation Authority. They can come and get you (or bring you here) by scheduling with them. There is no regular bus service. 
Taxi - There is a taxi company in Shelton that will provide services.

How many people live on our Island? That is a tough question.
Many folks own more than 1 piece of property here. Many maintain residences elsewhere and live here part-time. Construction of new homes on Harstine is always going on.

Harstine Point
Resort Overview
The resort hosts 3 miles of private beaches with views of the Olympic Mountains Range and Mt. Rainier. There is a lagoon,perfect for launching kayaks or exploring at low tide, and sand spit as well. Two boat launches, a private marina, and several covered, fully equipped picnic areas add to the pleasures of this private beach area. Off the beach you can play billiards, ping pong, tennis, basketball, or board games. Take the kids to the playgrounds or the heated pool with toddler wading area. Jarrell Cove

 Park Overview
 Jarrell Cove State Park is a 43-acre marine camping park with 3,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on the northwest end of Harstine Island in south Puget Sound. The forested island park is accessible by road and bridge and is off the beaten path. Most visitors arrive by boat. The park has campsites near the docks, as well as on rolling, grassy areas. Jarrell Cove State Park administers five other satellite parks including: Harstine Island, McMicken Island, Stretch Point, Eagle Island and Hope Island State Parks. Harstine Island State Park is a day use park with beach access via a half-mile trail. It is a two mile drive from Jarrell Cove. The other satellite parks are all accessible by boat only and offer buoys for moorage
